Publishing Grants
While Enanbib, Enabib! acknowledges the connection between reading and the nation’s flourishing, the campaign also recognizes the necessity of encouraging the publishing of new works by and for Ethiopians and Africans. Much work on Ethiopia and Africa is written by those far outside the indigenous context and therefore is liable to skewing away from truth and experience.
Therefore, Enanbib, Enabib! announces its National Publishing Grants with the aim of stimulating the writing of work by and for Ethiopians. It is not enough to transform Ethiopia into a nation of knowledge-consumers– it must become a knowledge-producing nation as well. With this in mind, the Publishing Grant will provide funding to writers to complete and publish manuscripts in conjunction with TSEHAI and other Ethiopian publishing companies.
