The National Book Awards
In the spirit of Enanbib, Enabib, the Ethiopian National Book Awards will be established to honor and celebrate the literary artistry already taking place across the nation. Each year, a number of awards will be conferred upon authors who submit their work for consideration.
The award categories include the following:
- Best Ethiopian Book
- Best Book About Ethiopia
- Best Ethiopian Poetry
- Best Ethiopian Academic Book
- Best Ethiopian Novel Award
- Best International Fiction Book
- Best International Non-fiction Book
- Best Publisher Award
Winners of each award will be honored during the Ethiopian National Book Award Gala, the event that begins the International Book Festival in Ethiopia. Additionally, these authors’ works will be highlighted throughout the festival weekend, and invited to speak publicly about their work to inspire up-and-coming writers and readers alike.
Publishers are encouraged to submit their writers’ work for consideration in an appropriate category following guidelines. Click here for more information.
